While the hubby is away....

..... the wife will walk the dog and exercise like a demon. My weight has been up and down .5 lbs for a while now. I'm stuck. I need to shake things up a bit, sign on to a consistent bootcamp type class. You know what's annoying? Every good class at my gym costs extra. We have a really low monthly fee, courtesy of a plan we signed years ago, but I don't have anyone to work out with, so I take classes to keep me motivated and burn the fat. That must be the thing these days. Bored of the usual step class? Try spinning ($) or yoga ($) or cardio bootcamp ($) or boxerfit($). You can practically hear the cash register chinging away. That way the members will pay for the good instructors and the gym doesn't have to.

Also, my directing project is underway, so all of my free time will be spent doing that for the next month. I've been shortlisted for a TV movie, a new acquaintance from a play reading I did last week suggested a cool idea for a new play and ... wait for it... I finally re-vamped our adoption profile and birth mother letter. Now all I have to do is finish my taxes and lose a pound and I'll be canonized.

Your blog is becoming a weekly staple for me. Good luck on your projects. (I finally left a gym that charged extra for every little thing.)

Canonized, indeed! I need a rest just reading your list. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.

I'm the same way with classes - I need them to keep me motivated. I just started flamenco dancing a few months ago and I am addicted. It's not the best workout yet because we are still very very slow. But I love it so much - I think it helps that it is an art form and is not just exercise. I have trouble staying interested in things that are purely good for me without any joy.

Thanks for delurking. I know our situations are quite different, but I really agree with one of your posts a while back that reading so many different people's stories helps to cultivate compassion. I really like your blog a lot and I feel strangely proud you came over to visit mine. So thanks!

You are quite the dynamo this spring!

I hate being nickle and dimed the way your gym is doing to you.

Thanks for the tip on the cheap OPKs - I just placed my order earlier today. Huge improvement over Shopper's Drug Mart!

wow, I'm impressed you're down to .5 of a stubborn pound. go you!

I wanted to thank you for your heartfelt comment -- your comments like your posts are always clear and articulate. my hub liked it too as it echoes what he's been saying to me for a while -- I/we need to figure out how to be whole and create my/our own happiness from within, with or without a child... ~luna
